Applications are open for the ACU Early Career Conference Grants 2026-2027. The grants help ensure emerging researchers, and the universities that employ them, can benefit from attending and taking part in in-person conferences in Commonwealth countries outside their country of work. For emerging academics, conferences offer a chance to share research, learn about the latest developments in their field, and build valuable professional networks, leaving researchers better informed and better connected with knowledge they can share with colleagues and students.
Key Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the grant, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
- Career Stage: Be an early career researcher or academic at an ACU member university, defined as within 7 years of the start of their academic career (research or teaching), with career breaks excluded from this count.
- Conference: Identify a conference they want to attend in a Commonwealth country, taking place between February 2027 and January 2028.
- Role at Conference: Be chairing a session, presenting a paper, or presenting a poster at the proposed conference.
Applicants are not eligible if they have previously travelled for work purposes, including conferences, outside their region of employment since starting their academic career, or if they've previously received an ACU Early Career Conference Grant.
