First City Monument Bank (FCMB) supported and participated in The Peak Performer Emerging Leaders’ Summit 2026, bringing together 1,000 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members on August 19 at the Solution Arena in Lagos. Organised by The Peak Performer Africa and convened by Dr. Abiola Salami under the theme “I Move with G.R.I.T. – From Potential to Performance,” the event was designed to help young graduates convert their academic foundation into practical workplace competence, financial discipline, digital capability, and leadership.
Throughout the summit, participants engaged across five core tracks Get Hired, Get Digital, Get Financially Strong, Build Something, and Create Impact covering essential career skills from artificial intelligence to entrepreneurial ventures. Representing FCMB, Olajire Awofisibe, Group Head of Retail Asset Products, served as a faculty member in the financial literacy segment. He emphasized that financial security stems from consistent budgeting, saving, and responsible credit management rather than income alone, warning that borrowing without a repayment plan creates a long-term burden.
The event blended panel discussions and practical learning with keynotes and energetic performances by Nigerian Idol stars Victory Gbakara and Precious Mac. To ensure long-term impact beyond the single-day event, corps members immediately transitioned into a 30-Day MOVE Challenge, collaborating in groups to execute and document specific community projects based on their chosen pathways.
