African women entrepreneurs running technology-enabled businesses can apply for Her Startup Cohort 2.0. Her Startup is a pan-African initiative that supports early-stage, women-led companies with growth potential. The programme combines business training through the Founder Institute accelerator, mentorship and funding opportunities. It is for founders who already run a business, not people with an idea alone. Participants who complete the training receive a certificate and can apply for funding.
Key Eligibility Criteria
- Gender and Age: Be a woman founder, co-founder or CEO aged 18 to 35.
- Location: Lead a company based in an African country. Nigerian founders are eligible.
- Business Type: Run a technology-enabled business.
- Product Stage: Have a minimum viable product (MVP) or a product already on the market.
- Revenue: Earn at least $500 a month, sustained for at least six months.
- Potential: Show a clear value proposition and potential for growth.
Applications are accepted in English and French. Fintech companies make up no more than 20% of each cohort, and the programme aims for at least 15% of selected companies to come from Francophone Africa.
What Selected Founders Get
- 12-Week Accelerator: Structured training delivered through the Founder Institute, covering business models, customers, growth strategy and investment readiness.
- Monthly Stipend: Paid in stages during the training. The programme doesn't publish a fixed amount.
- Pitch for Up to $5,000: Founders who complete the training can pitch to the programme's Investment Committee for startup capital. This is convertible revenue-based financing, not an unconditional grant, and taking part does not guarantee an award.
- Six Months of Mentorship: Funded founders get mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs and industry professionals.
- Other Support: Networking and investor-readiness support. The programme also lists co-working space and healthcare coverage.
How to Apply
Apply through the official Her Startup website before the deadline of October 26, 2026. No application fee is listed.
