Applications are officially open for Cohort 4 of the LeadGreen Leaders Program 2026, a free, 12-week virtual fellowship designed to equip young Africans with the tools, mentorship, and networks required to drive grassroots environmental change.
Targeting university students and recent graduates from first-generation and limited-income backgrounds, this fellowship translates environmental awareness into practical local action.
What You Will Learn
The curriculum is structured around four central pillars:
- Environmental Foundations: Deepen your understanding of key challenges across Africa, including climate change, plastic pollution, deforestation, and flooding.
- Green Skills & Solutions: Discover practical strategies in waste management, recycling, afforestation, and sustainable living.
- Environmental Action Missions: Plan, execute, and document measurable community-focused sustainability projects.
- Community & Leadership: Participate in expert-led masterclasses and build connections with a network of climate leaders across the continent.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Aged 18 to 29 years old
- Current university student or recent graduate
- From a limited-income or first-generation background
- Strong passion for climate action and environmental sustainability
- Able to commit ~3 hours weekly throughout the 12-week period
