LEAP Fund 2026: Climate Action Grants of Up to $150,000 for Nigerian Nonprofits

The Drive Electric Campaign has opened the fourth round of its LEAP Fund to support organisations advancing electric mobility in Africa and Southeast Asia.

The initiative aims to accelerate electric vehicle (EV) adoption by strengthening local advocacy, building partnerships and promoting policies that support cleaner transportation.

Funding Benefits

Selected organisations can receive:

  • 100,000–150,000 in grant funding
  • Support for an 18-month project
  • Opportunities to build partnerships with businesses, government and communities
  • Resources to strengthen advocacy and influence electric mobility policies

A total of $1.5 million is available to support approximately 10–12 organisations.

Areas of Focus

Applications should align with one of three funding tracks:

  • Institutional Readiness and Policy Design: Research, training and technical support to help governments develop effective EV policies.
  • Mobilising Business Voices: Engaging businesses and industry stakeholders to advocate for electric mobility.
  • A People-Powered Transition: Building community coalitions and involving groups such as youth, workers, drivers and health advocates in policy discussions.

Projects should contribute to meaningful policy development and adoption in electric mobility.
