Presidential Youth Mentorship Retreat 7.0: African Youth and Renaissance

The Youth Development Centre of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library is hosting the 7th edition of the Presidential Youth Mentorship Retreat, themed "African Youth and Renaissance," in Abeokuta, Ogun State, from November 8-11, 2026. The retreat brings young Africans face to face with President Olusegun Obasanjo and selected facilitators to discuss leadership and emerging global issues.

Presidential Youth Mentorship Retreat 7.0: African Youth and Renaissance

The Presidential Youth Mentorship Retreat is designed to foster an intergenerational leadership continuum where participants engage, and are engaged by, President Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR, and facilitators selected by him, on concurrent leadership and emerging global issues, and pragmatic approaches to confronting challenges and creating opportunities in all endeavours for youth across Africa.

What Applicants Need to Provide

The application form asks for personal details (name, contact information, LinkedIn, date of birth, nationality, state of residence and origin, education, and occupation) alongside a set of reflective questions:

  • What applicants understand by the theme "African Youth and Renaissance," in not more than 100 words.
  • A summary, in 150 words, of any project tied to the theme, or details of other community-development projects from the last year if none apply.
  • How applicants expect the programme to benefit them, in 100 words.
  • Whether they have taken part in a previous Youth Development Centre programme.

The form explicitly warns that AI-generated responses will result in automatic disqualification.
