Nigerians interested in building careers or businesses in the agriculture and agribusiness sector can apply for the SUSTAIN Developing Agribusiness Talent Training Programme 2026, a free skills development initiative designed to prepare participants for employment and entrepreneurship opportunities in Nigeria's agribusiness sector. The programme is part of the Strengthening Underlying Systems and TVETs for Agribusiness Innovation in Nigeria (SUSTAIN) project, an Agricultural Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ATVET) initiative led by Sydani under the Team Europe Initiative Opportunity-driven Skills and Vocational Education and Training in Africa (TEI OP-VET). Participants develop practical skills in agribusiness management, value-chain development, digital agriculture, data analytics, and entrepreneurship.
Programme Structure
- Level 1 (Agribusiness Generalist): Covers agribusiness management principles, value chain analysis, gender and social inclusion, and digital agribusiness tools. Three months, self-paced. Open to all interested participants. Certificate and job-placement support included.
- Level 2 (Specialised Skills): Focuses on agribusiness digital systems and data analytics, with more courses developed around industry skills gaps. Three months, hybrid format. Requires completion of Level 1 or equivalent knowledge. Certificate and job-placement support included.
- Level 3 (Build Your Agribusiness): Covers innovation and investment pitching, entrepreneurship, business plan development, costing and pricing, and negotiation skills. Three months, fully in-person, with limited spaces. Requires completion of Level 2 or equivalent knowledge. Certificate plus access to a soft grant pathway.
Key Eligibility Criteria
- Level 1: Open to all interested Nigerians building a career or business in agribusiness.
- Level 2: Must have completed Level 1 or hold equivalent knowledge.
- Level 3: Must have completed Level 2 or hold equivalent knowledge, with limited spaces available.
