Sanitation and Water for All (SWA) is inviting its Civil Society partners to apply for the 2026 Catalytic Funding, which supports advocacy initiatives aimed at strengthening political prioritisation, sustainable financing, accountability, and multi-stakeholder action in the water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) sector. The grants are designed to support advocacy that can influence policy, strengthen government action, and advance sustainable solutions to water and sanitation challenges.
Key Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant Type: Open specifically to SWA Civil Society partners.
- Project Alignment: Proposed advocacy initiatives must align with the applicant organisation's objectives and the SWA Strategic Framework 2020-2030.
- Priority Areas: Must address at least one of the programme's priority areas.
- Language: Applications accepted in English, French, or Spanish.
Funding Details
- Grant Amount: USD 10,000.
- Project Duration: 3 months, beginning from receipt of funding or project start.
- Reporting: Successful organisations must submit narrative and financial reports after completing activities.
Priority Areas
Proposals should address at least one of the following:
- Raising the political priority given to water and sanitation.
- Translating government commitments into concrete action and sustainable financing.
- Connecting water security with climate resilience, economic strength, and social wellbeing.
Applications are particularly encouraged around elections and citizen engagement, water as a foundation for climate and economic resilience, gender-focused water and sanitation advocacy, civil society approaches to sustainable financing, and accountability.
Geographic Scope
The funding is available to eligible SWA Civil Society partners working at national and regional levels across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and global contexts.
